NMB Heroes Scholarship Fund will provide tuition assistance for The Windward School students with dyslexia and other language-based learning disabilities.

Melville, NY — Nationwide Mortgage Bankers (“NMB”) announced today it will create a $100,000 NMB Heroes Scholarship Fund for The Windward School in New York. The scholarship will support children with dyslexia and language-based learning disabilities of first responders. The amount distributed per child from the fund will be determined by need.

“NMB’s generous Heroes Scholarship Fund will give eligible student recipients access to The Windward School’s proven instructional program for children with language-based learning disabilities. The fund will enable students to grow their academic skills, understand their learning needs, build confidence, and develop self-advocacy skills,” said Jamie Williamson, Head of School at The Windward School. Williamson adds, “We are thankful for local companies like Nationwide Mortgage Bankers that support education and our community.”

Richard Steinberg, Founder & Chairman of the Board at NMB, states, “The strength of our community is built upon our children and the future they will help shape. Being able to help the children of first responders during this crucial time is one small way we can ease their minds so they can continue to protect and serve our communities from the frontlines.”

Richard concludes, “It is important for us at NMB to take steps that have an immediate impact on those we serve, and a scholarship immediately impacts the lives of students and their families. We will continue to be a resource to our community, whenever we might be needed.”
